Welcoming Baby Isla | Louisville Newborn Lifestyle Session

“Nothing is permanently perfect. But there are perfect moments and the will to choose what will bring about more perfect moments.”

The season of brand new parenthood is full of moments that you'll never forget.  Some of those treasured memories will be because your heart was so full of joy and gratitude that you thought you could literally burst, and some will be because you were being pushed past your limits and unsure how you could make it to the end of the day (or of course, through the late/early hours of night).

Oh, this season is something else. You're learning, you're providing, you're nurturing, you're surviving.  And it all goes by so quickly.  My little boy is about to turn one, and reflecting back on this past year I realize how true it is when they say "time flies once you have kids." And one of the main things I've learned is that not everyday is going to be simple and perfect and full of beautiful moments, but even those days have purpose in who we are being shaped into as parents.  And when you look back at those days, you actually do remember them as perfect moments.  Moments that are all too fleeting.  Even after a year, it can be hard to remember what it felt like to hold my newborn baby snuggly on my chest and to fill his little breath on my neck.  It can be hard to remember his sweet smell and the way he looked at me wide-eyed and so intensely, or the way his little finger wrapped around mine.  In those moments, you pray that time could stand still and that you could vividly remember those memories forever, but unfortunately it can be tough to hold on to as the busy days turn into weeks, months and years.  And that's exactly why documenting this season of life is so important.

Newborn lifestyle sessions do just that - they capture you living in the precious moments that will one day be a treasured memory.  And when you look back on these photos, all those sweet memories will come back to you and you'll be able to remember the perfection of this time.  Not only that, but you'll be able to show and share these memories with your children and use them to help tell their story... Your story.

Nick and Erin, congratulations on your sweet girl.  Thank you for inviting me into your home and for being so wonderful to work with. Watching the three of you together was heartwarming.  I wish your beautiful family all the best!
