Honestly Documented: Getting to Know Lily | Louisville Documentary Photographer

Meet Lily.

I had the opportunity to meet her and her amazing mother through the "50 Most Beautiful Mothers" project and am so happy that I did.  Lily has Cystic Fibrosis, but that definitely does NOT define her.  She is sweet, silly, and sassy... not to mention absolutely beautiful.  In the short seven years that Lily has been alive, she has experienced much more than many of us could ever imagine.  She is strong, wise, and well beyond her years.  We can all learn a lot from this little girl!

I sat down with Lily and asked her a few questions to capture a little bit of who she is right now, in this moment in time.  She was straight-forward and to the point with her answers... Something most adults have trouble with! (including me)  I love that children don't hesitate to share what's on their mind... They are honest and aren't scared to be themselves.

Enjoy!

How old are you?  Seven

When's your birthday?  July 2nd

What is your favorite thing to do?  Go to Kentucky Kingdom!  I like the roller coaster (the small one).

If you had a million dollars, what would you do with it? I would buy Shopkins.  Then I would spend the rest on lipstick.  (She proceeded to show me all of her Shopkins and tell me all of their names.)  :)

If you were a superhero, what would your power be?  I would fly... to the moon.

What is your favorite thing about YOU?  I'm smart.

She's a good mom.

Childhood (and life) goes by so fast... It's the little things that you'll remember most.  It's the little memories and stories that you will want to pass on to future generations.  Whether you have a photographer come over to document it for you, or you do it with your iPhone or point and shoot camera (you don't need a fancy camera!), I hope you do.

Are you interested in capturing some of your own family's memories?  I'd love to hear from you!
