Thank you so much for choosing me to document your sweet family. I consider it such an honor to work with every family I meet, and I look forward to meeting yours and working with you!
I've created a guide to help you prepare for your outdoor family session. Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions you have!
What does our photo package include?
The full family session is a 1-1.5 hour session at a location of your choice and includes all digital images with full rights (you are able to print your images and/or order products through whatever photo company you prefer). The package also includes one 8x10 and two 5x7 professional prints from my photo lab. You will receive your images in an online, password protected gallery. There you can download all of your images and choose the three prints you'd like from me. If you would like to order additional professional quality prints or products you can do so from your gallery. Once your photos are finished I will send you an email with your link and password to access your gallery. It's very easy!
The mini session is a 30 minute session at predetermined location (chosen by me). It includes all digital images with full rights (you are able to print your images and/or order products through whatever photo company you prefer). You will also receive your images in an online, password protected gallery that will be emailed to you once your photos are ready.
What about scheduling?
By this point we should already have scheduled a date for your session. I will be in touch with you (usually by text unless you tell me a better contact method) to nail down the specific time and details of your session. However, if you have questions or would like to bounce ideas off of me before then feel free to contact me at 502-693-3918.
What should we expect?
Expect the session to be very laid back and easy going. You will interact with one another, be silly, laugh, and sneak in some hugs and kisses now and then. My goal is to capture REAL moments and feelings shared between you and your loved ones, and I have found that placing you in stiff, awkward poses just doesn't work for me. I always make sure to get a good "look at the camera and smile photo", but the majority of the moments we capture will be candid and real. The most important thing that I ask is that you come to the session with an open-mind and without any expectations. If you do this, we are guaranteed to have a wonderful time and capture special and fun moments!
Worried about your children misbehaving? Don't! Kids are kids, and I do not expect them to be well behaved and do exactly what I say the entire time. That's why I encourage interacting with one another and going with the flow. We oftentimes follow the children's lead, which makes for a much more enjoyable experience. I taught preschool and elementary school for six years and now teach early childhood courses at Ivy Tech, so I can say with confidence that I'll be able to work with your kiddo(s) and make sure we get great photos. :) Your job is to relax and enjoy yourself! If you'd like to look through some of my past family work to help get a better idea of what to expect, click on the link below.
What should I have ready before the session?
Outfits, accessories (hats, bows, etc), specific items your children love or enjoy playing with (favorite blanket or stuffed animal, books, kite, bubbles, etc) are all ideas of things you could bring. If you have a particular blanket you'd like to bring to sit on for photos, feel free. If not, I have plenty to choose from. Can't think of anything in particular you'd like to bring for the photos? No biggie! It's totally fine to show up with nothing but yourselves. :)
What should we wear?
I recommend simple clothing pieces for both indoor and outdoor sessions. I do not suggest bold colors and/or patterns. I've created a Pinterest board to help you with ideas. Don't worry if the examples don't portray your style - instead pay attention to the color palettes and patterns for inspiration when choosing your own outfits.
What if it rains?
We will pay close attention to the weather forecast the week leading up to your session date. If it is overcast or if there's a small chance of rain, we go ahead with the session. If it's raining or a high chance of bad weather, we will look at the calendar and choose an alternative date that works for the both of us.
How long will it take for us to get our photos?
Unless you ask me not to, I will have a few "sneak peeks" posted on social media (FB) within a few days of your session. Your final gallery will be emailed to you within two weeks of your session date.
What about payment?
If you'd like to go ahead and pay for your session you can do so now by adding the correct session to your cart (see below). If you'd rather wait until the day of your session, you can pay by check or cash. It's whatever is easiest for you!
Ready to pay for your session? Simply add your selected session to your cart and follow the prompts to get your payment taken care of. Thank you!
